Near Future of Cybersecurity and New Trends in Cyberspace

2020 was undoubtedly an unprecedented year for humanity. In particular, the global pandemic altered the rules of our daily lives and affected the ongoing processes including cyberspace, and presented new realities and challenges. During the pandemic period, the accelerated pace of digital transformation permeated almost every aspect of our lives, which in turn was a major impetus for the development of cyber technologies. It should also be noted that the number of cybercrimes, as well as the scale of unauthorized penetration into cyberspace, has significantly increased.
It is newsworthy, how the cybersecurity landscape will evolve in the backdrop of the existing challenges? In other words, what will be the main cybersecurity trends that are likely to be dominant in the market in 2021? However, it is obvious that the damages caused by cyber-attacks and cybercrime is still increasing and it is directly proportional to the sharp increment of remote working processes worldwide, which are still taking place due to the existing pandemic of COVID-19, and it is still unclear how long this process will last. According to experts, the quantitative indicator of cybercrime continues to increase worldwide and the resulting financial losses will exceed 6 trillion US dollars. At the same time, it is essential to reasonably assess incidents and respond on time.

He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Internet Development Initiative (IDI) in Georgia and also the Co-founder of the Georgian Cybersecurity Academy (CSA).
